HAWTHORNE, N.Y. and MARLBORO, Mass., April 3, 2012 — Xand and Access Northeast announced today that they have merged to form one of the largest privately held data center companies in the Northeast. The newly combined entity operates facilities in three states, New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts, serving nearly 1,000 customers with colocation, cloud and managed services across the region.

“Xand and Access Northeast both share a strong commitment to providing excellent service and innovative solutions to our customers,” said David Struwas, CEO of Xand. “The synergies between our firms will only serve to reinforce this message to the northeast marketplace.”

The combination of these two providers will be able to offer regional enterprises a multiple data center service across Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York for better implementation of their strategic business continuity and disaster recovery plans.

“A single customer-centric service provider implementing end-to-end replication, backup and recovery solutions is a very powerful proposition,” said Rob Stephenson, Access Northeast’s CEO. “Our team is very excited for the Xand merger and is bullish on the prospect of jointly delivering Internet Infrastructure services to businesses of all sizes.”

Mr. Stephenson will serve as the Chief Marketing Officer and a member of the Board of Directors in the new entity. He joins Bob DeSantis, CFO, and Mr. Struwas, CEO, to form the core of the new company’s management team. Eric Kagan, Access Northeast’s current CTO, will also remain with the company in a technical role and as a Board Observer.

Xand was acquired by ABRY Partners in October of 2011. ABRY Partners, a Boston, Mass. private equity investment firm, has made several significant investments in the data center and communications space.

“We believe the combination of Xand and Access Northeast creates an unrivaled regional service platform company intently focused upon the data center triple play – colocation, cloud and managed services,” said Brian St. Jean of ABRY Partners. “We look forward to backing the newly formed company with additional resources for expansion and acquisitions.”

Access Northeast, one of the largest privately held Datacenter and Managed Service Providers in New England, today announces the introduction of their latest Parthenon™ offering, MirrorCloud.

The MirrorCloud service utilizes the power of VMware’s vCenter and Site Recovery Manager (SRM) technologies to deliver a simple-to-use, reliable, and fully-automated virtual replication solution. MirrorCloud seamlessly integrates with all of Access Northeast’s existing Parthenon Cloud™ Infrastructure Services, providing IT professionals with a variety of cost-efficient solutions to choose from.

“Access Northeast is filling a void in the Northeast datacenter market,” said VMware Business Development Leader Michael J McDonough III. “They are truly a thought leader in offering Disaster Recovery in conjunction with other robust offerings. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity services were only available to the largest enterprise customers just three years ago, but with the advancement of VMware software and Access Northeast’s infrastructure, this very important need is now available to everyone in the market.”

The Parthenon™ MirrorCloud service allows IT, Finance and Business Continuity professionals within the same organization to align their individual mandates with respect to corporate Disaster Recovery planning by dramatically lowering Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) within existing budgets. Backed by the latest VMware innovations, the Parthenon™ MirrorCloud guarantees a solution that works along with the ease-of-use management and future scalability that VMware virtual platforms are famous for.

“Every day we meet with companies who are challenged with high application availability requirements, despite modest budgets,” said Brian Bean, Vice President of Technical Services at Access Northeast. “With MirrorCloud, the cost variance between 24-hour recovery time and 6 hours is almost negligible.”

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – Aug. 5, 2011 — Access Northeast, one of the largest privately held data center and managed service providers in New England, announced today that Micronotes has chosen the Parthenon Cloud™ platform to power their business. Micronotes, a Cambridge, MA-based digital marketing firm servicing the financial sector, will leverage the power of Access Northeast’s Parthenon Cloud™ to deliver critical IT services, including the support of production, testing, and development environments for their KulaX technology architecture.

“Access Northeast was able to craft a unique Cloud solution that wasn’t readily available from most of their competitors. Their hybrid design allowed us to take advantage of the technical, operational and financial benefits of their Parthenon Cloud, while still allowing Micronotes to maintain our own physical environment in one of their premium data centers,” said Venkat Rangamani, CTO of Micronotes. “As an emerging company and new startup, the financial and operational benefit of having access to computing power on demand was critical for us to keep focusing upon our rapidly growing digital marketing business.”

Micronotes sought a hybrid Cloud platform capable of connecting their existing physical infrastructure directly to a service provider’s Cloud. Access Northeast was able to produce a solution for Micronotes by providing physical colocation directly connected via local Ethernet to a Parthenon Cloud™ virtual node, within the same state-of-the-art data center facility.

“The Parthenon Cloud™ is the perfect platform for startup companies, especially those working with dynamic applications requiring strong testing and development architecture,” said Access Northeast CEO Rob Stephenson. “Micronotes can now service banking customers more efficiently by outsourcing their infrastructure directly to Access Northeast. With our custom solution, they get the best of both worlds by combining a physical environment with the high performance, cost effective features of the Parthenon Cloud™ — all under a single roof.”
